Test & Papers

Sorry I have taken so long to post. Becky and I have been inundated with school work. She had a 15 page paper due and I had my first lab exam for Microbiology. As usual competition between Becky and I hit a high mark. I made a 97 on my exam and she bested me with a 98. I will allow for her to gloat on that one for awhile. I have Microbiology lecture exam next week on February 20th. I know it really ruins your birthday by having a test on it.

Due to my exam we are working on trying to do my birthday party at the Stars game on the 22nd. Let Becky or I know if you are interested in going. I think we have roughly 7 - 10 people going so far. Becky is going to call our Season Ticket rep and se what kind of special deals they can get us. Last time we were able to get some great tickets and spend some time with the Ice Girls (I wish I could remember their names, but I was too busy staring at their outfits).

Now Attention! Drop and give me 20! That's right Becky is back to boot camp next week. The 2 weeks of rest, relaxation, and no kickboxing are over. Becky's class starts back on the 18th and she can’t wait. Let her know if you want to join her. She can take you for free on Saturdays. Congratulations to Becky’s co-worker for being brave and signing up for the class. I will say that I expected a lot of yelling, but I was impressed as it was more encouragement as we ran, squatted, jumped, and push-uped our way through the workout. It was fun and left us all with some funny stories to tell (still not quite sure how we did crawling down the stairs without hurting ourselves). So if you want to join Becky for the whole session you still can sign-up online at http://www.jaysbootcamp.com.

On the hockey front . . . this weekend should be our last late night game (yeah). I know several people have said to me that they can’t wait for the early games to begin, so that they can attend. I can’t wait either. Last weekends game was a real grinder. I had 3 shots on goal but did not score. We ended up going to a shoot out and I think we went 9 players deep into it before a final score was made (not in our favor).

On the cruise front I have finally gotten it all booked. We will be leaving out of Seattle on the Oosterdam (that’s right one of those Holland America “dam ships”). http://www.hollandamerica.com/find-cruise-vacation/CruiseDetails.action?noOfFlexibleMonths=1&shipCodeSearch=OS&flexibleMonths=false&pageNumber=1&voyageCode=O833. If you get a chance you can checkout our itinerary and the ship. It looks to be fun, as my parents have already booked as well. If your interested in going let us know as the ship is booking quick. We do have a contact who is getting us a pretty good deal and probably could get you something too.

Big congratulations and welcome to the Children’s Hospital family to Kendra. She has been hired on and will be working up on the 12th floor where Johnathon was at. I’m glad to hear this as I think Children’s has added a real good nurse in Kendra. She should be starting her orientation soon. I know she will miss the dull brown walls of Parkland, but I think a little crayola crayon colors in her life may do her some good (I hope her boys can come and see her at work and check out the cool trains).

On a final note we did receive some bad and good news on our dog Haven. Over the past couple of weeks she has been starting to act forgetful and lost in her thoughts sometimes. We took her into the vet and they discovered that she has a heart murmur which could be causing a lack of blood flow to her brain. Not much can be done with dogs in this situation. The good news is all of her blood test came back normal. Her thyroid was low, but she is taking her thyroid medicine twice a day now. Since being on the medicine for 6 days so far she has regained some of her pep and vigor, but she still gets confused at times. The Doctors believe that a ligament in her heart valve may have failed (could be damage from her racing days that just now gave away). We have to make weekly checks on her pulses and listen to her heart beat to make sure it is not getting worse. As for now Haven is doing fine and is more than happy to greet you at our front door. Just don’t let her fool you in trying to give her an extra dog cookie (she is getting real good at that).

Why so long between postings????? I check back here often and many times my bottom lip begins to poke out and pout.
